This was pretty awesome. Congratulations to SpaceX! The most funny part is how observers hedge to exclclude Pegasus. SpaceX commentors used "ground-launched" and SpaceflightNow said "liquid-fuel". But of course now Pegasus is toast. Remember how Elon explained why it can never achieve Falcon's costs?

The most important thing about this launch was that it was supposed to be a reusable launch vehicle. Yet I haven't heard anything about whether they recovered the booster or what shape it's in or whether they're going to reuse it. Has anyone heard about it?

I just found the answer to my own question about reusing the first stage. In a space.com article Musk said: "better heat shielding is needed before that is perfected"
